Welcome to our therapy journey! Here, we embrace a personalized approach, tailoring each session to fit your unique needs. Our toolbox includes a variety of effective techniques such as Person-Centered Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR), Solution-Focused Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing. We believe in empowering you to harness your inner strengths and potential for a fulfilling life.

Your role in this journey is vital. You have the freedom to be involved in crafting your treatment plan, choosing what feels right for you. And remember, it's always okay to change your mind about a treatment or suggest alternatives.

Therapy is a team effort. It's about working together, assessing your progress, and setting goals. Part of this process involves practical exercises – think of it as "homework" – that might include activities like journaling, attending support groups, or reading. These tasks are designed to reinforce what we discuss in our sessions and foster long-term growth and recovery.

Our sessions can adapt to your lifestyle, taking place in person, via video conferencing, or even over the phone, depending on what suits you best. Remember, therapy is a journey of growth, learning, and self-discovery, and we're here to support you every step of the way.

Understanding the Risks of Therapy: Engaging in therapy can be transformative, yet it’s important to be aware of potential challenges. During therapy, you might encounter uncomfortable emotions as you work through your issues. Relationships with close ones may also evolve, as personal growth can alter dynamics. It's not uncommon for things to feel tougher before they improve – this is a natural part of making significant life changes. And while we strive for positive outcomes, it’s important to remember that results can vary, and specific outcomes can’t be guaranteed.

Our Professional Relationship: What to Expect: In our sessions, my commitment is to offer you the best possible support, guided by the standards of the Texas State Board of Social Work Examiners (TSBSWE). This professional relationship has its boundaries, set to protect your interests and ensure our interactions remain strictly professional. It’s important to understand these boundaries aren’t personal but are in place for your benefit and privacy.

As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, my expertise lies in diagnosing and treating mental and substance use disorders. However, my practice is limited to these areas, and I'm not qualified to offer legal, medical, financial, or other professional advice.

Your privacy is of utmost importance. Confidentiality is a cornerstone of our relationship, with a few legal exceptions outlined in the "About Confidentiality" section. In public or social settings, I’ll respect your privacy by not initiating contact, but I will respond if you choose to greet me first. This approach is to maintain the confidentiality and integrity of our therapeutic relationship.

It's important to note that our relationship is exclusively professional. Any social, romantic, or business interactions outside of therapy are not permissible. This includes during and after the course of our therapy sessions. Bartering for services is also not allowed.

If you find yourself in a legal situation like a divorce or custody dispute, it's crucial to seek a separate mental health professional for evaluations or testimony. My role in such scenarios is limited due to the potential perception of bias and the impact it could have on our therapeutic relationship.
